How to show FPS in CS2

Monitor your game performance by displaying FPS in CS2. This guide shows you how to enable the FPS counter using the cl_showfps console command or through the game settings, and how to create a key bind to toggle it on and off.

In every competitive shooter we the playes want to know how many FPS (frames per second) we are getting.

This way we can make sure that our computers are running as we expect them and be reminded of that Chrome browser that is still running in the background that keeps dragging down our FPS.

Show FPS in CS2

The best way to show FPS in CS2 is to use the cl_showfps 1 command. We can’t use the net_graph command because it has been removed in CS2.

Settings > Game > Telemetry > Show frame time and FPS > Always

Windows Run Command

There are also a couple more options that you can enable to get more detailed information about your game performance.

I like to enable them all so I can see everything that is going on at all times. This gives me a bit of peace of mind when I get wallbanged by an enemy that I didn’t see. Maybe this time it was a server lag and not a wallhacker… Maybe…

Bind toggle FPS show

You can bind a key to toggle the FPS display on and off.

bind m 'toggle cl_showfps 0 1'
Bound to: m

Not sure why you would want to do this, but you can if you want.
